Dr. Albert Steren, a leader in the field of advanced minimally invasive surgery, is a perennially listed “TOP DOC” by Washingtonian Magazine and Consumer Checkbook Magazine. He was recently awarded the “Patient’s Choice Award” in an online survey evaluation of over 170,000 physicians nationwide, and was named to the Research Council of America’s 2009 edition of “Guide to America's Top Oncologists.”
Dr. Steren is Medical Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Holy Cross Hospital and Medical Director of the G.A.T.E. Institute at Holy Cross, a training center for advanced laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery. He is also the Medical Director of AAGL/SRS certified fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery in a consortium that includes Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Steren has been involved in training physicians from around the country and the world in advanced minimally invasive surgery. The first gynecologist in the state of Maryland to be trained in advanced robotic surgery, Dr. Steren was instrumental in bringing the da Vinci® Surgical System to Montgomery County, and has been identified by Intuitive Surgical, Inc (maker of the da Vinci® Robot) as one of the top 15 gynecologic robotic surgeons globally!

Dr. Steren received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and is an honors graduate of George Washington University Medical School. He was selected to the AOA Medical Honors Society upon graduation. Dr. Steren interned and was a resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital and was a fellow in gynecologic oncology at the University of Miami.
Recently Dr. Steren served on the state cancer council, an appointment by the Governor of Maryland.
Dr. Steren is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and gynecologic oncology.
Dr. Snyder received her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been in practice since 1990. She specializes in benign gynecology with a special interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology.
Dr. Snyder is proud to have earned the recognition and praise of the medical community by being named an “Outstanding Physician Specialist” in Washington Consumers' Checkbook and Washingtonian Magazine.

Dr. Barter is recognized as one of the country's leading gynecologists by Good Housekeeping, perennially as one of the “Top Doctors” in the Washington, D.C. area, as well as one of only two Gynecologic Oncologists noted as top doctors in Northern Virginia. He is currently a Clinical Professor at George Washington University and director of Gynecologic Oncology research at Holy Cross Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia, and completed two years of Internal Medicine and four years of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Alabama Medical Center. He was then at Lombardi Cancer Center / Georgetown University Medical Center for 16 years, rising to the rank of Professor.
Dr. Barter’s current interests include surgery using the da Vinci® surgical robot to assist in Gynecologic surgery. He has lectured locally and internationally on this topic. He was recently ranked in the top 15 users worldwide for robotic gynecologic and gynecologic oncology procedures, and is presenting the Holy Cross Gynecologic and Gynecologic Oncology experience at the Middle Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology Symposium. His four year interest in the development of a serum blood test for Ovarian Cancer detection will soon culminate in published research involving Serum Proteomics. In conjunction with Holy Cross, he continues his interest in protocols dealing with novel approaches for Ovarian Cancer treatment, having received research grants. A novel study to determine cancer cell sensitivity to chemotherapy has just begun.

Dr. Levav is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the Medical Center of Delaware, where she was recognized and honored as the best Resident Instructor.
She had research published in the American Journal of Gerontology as well as the American Journal of Perinatology. She also presented research on abnormal Paps and the management of cervical dysplasia.
Dr. Levav is Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology. She worked in private practice in New York for 6 years prior to moving to Maryland and joining Women's Health Specialists.
Dr. Levav has focused her surgical practice on minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Levav's background in counseling and mentoring teenagers gives her a special interest in the health concerns of young women. Her experience as a health and fitness instructor, combined with research in diabetes and nutrition, plays a vital role in her approach to caring for women's health issues. She also has a special interest in contraception, abnormal Paps, abnormal bleeding and menopausal issues.

Ms. Studley is a graduate of Cornell University with a major in Biochemical Nutrition, and completed her Physician Assistant degree at Touro College on Long Island, New York. Ms. Studley has been practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1985. She practiced at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY before joining Women's Health Specialists in 1996. Ms. Studley sees a wide range of patients of all ages, and has special interest in genetic breast and ovarian cancer testing and women with pelvic prolapse requiring pessaries. She is a former clinical instructor at Touro College, teaching classes in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Ms. Flaharty completed her graduate degree at Columbia University and has been in practice as a Nurse Midwife/Practitioner for over 22 years. While she has special interests in menopause and abnormal pap smear management, Nadine also welcomes patients for routine and problem focused gynecologic exams.
Fluent in Spanish, she enjoys seeing all women during all phases of their lives.

Ms Dolan completed a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1998. She then received her Bachelors of Science in nursing from Felician College. In 2004 she received her Masters of Science in nursing and became certified as a registered Nurse Practitioner from the University of Maryland with a family concentration. She has nursing experience in gynecologic oncology, both in the office and hospital settings. When not working, Ms Dolan enjoys spending time with her family.

Ms. Moran, our Radiance LHE Phototherapy and skin care specialist, is a registered nurse, as well as a licensed esthetician with formal training on the Radiance LHE system. Originally from Massachusetts, Ms. Moran has worked in many specialty areas of nursing. She is excited to share her knowledge of skin care and helping clients look and feel better about themselves through facials and other rejuvenation techniques.
Married with two children, Ms. Moran enjoys traveling, reading a good book and spoiling her Shih Tzu poodle mix, Bandit.
Dr. Steren has retired from active clinical practice.
